Video production process: from concept to final cut
The video production process at LANIZMEDIA follows a clear structure. Every project runs through five steps: concept and technology, shooting, studio, outdoor and aerial shots and, finally, post-production. As a result, you always know what happens next – and you get everything from a single source.
The video production process in 5 steps
From the first idea to delivery, a dedicated team supports you. In addition, our FAQ answers common questions, and you can find all services under Services.

Video production process: concept & technology in 4K
First, we define the goal, target audience and channel of your film. Then we choose the right equipment. We shoot with modern cameras in 4K: while HD with 1920 × 1080 pixels is the everyday standard, our cameras also deliver Ultra HD with 3840 × 2160 pixels – four times the resolution. Both formats use a 16:9 aspect ratio.
For cinema, there is also DCI 4K with 4096 × 2160 pixels and roughly 17:9. In addition, our Sony FS7 records four separate audio tracks. So if several people need to be clearly audible, we recommend a two-person crew for camera and sound. For special requests we add equipment – or you use our camera rental in Munich.
Shooting: professional images on location
During the shoot, the second step of the process, we only use high-end equipment. To avoid unpleasant surprises, we therefore invest in new technology and service lenses, tripods, lights and audio gear regularly.
- Shooting schedule: you receive timings and contacts in advance.
- Crew: director, camera, light and sound – depending on scope.
- On location: at your company, on location or at events.

Studio: green screen in Unterhaching
For studio recordings we offer our own green screen studio in Munich. There you can shoot regardless of the weather – for example interviews, product shots, explainer videos or presentations with digital backgrounds.
In the control room you can also follow the picture live on client monitors and give feedback immediately. As a result, you get modern equipment and personal support at a fair price.
Outdoor shoots & aerial footage
Aerial footage has always fascinated audiences. Thanks to modern drones, we capture unusual perspectives that enhance many corporate films and commercials. In addition, we shoot with camera cars, gimbals and sliders at locations in Munich, Bavaria and all over Germany.
Of course, we follow the rules of the German Federal Aviation Office and obtain all necessary permits in time.

Final step of the video production process: post-production
Finally, post-production turns the raw footage into your finished film: with editing, color grading, graphics, music, voice-over and a standard-compliant sound mix according to EBU R 128.
Afterwards, we deliver all versions – for your website, social media, TV and cinema. Read more about video post-production in Munich, TV production and commercials.
What shapes your video production process
Goal & channel
A TV spot, for example, needs different workflows than a Reel. That is why we plan backwards from the channel.
Shooting days & locations
Studio, company premises or several places: the number of shooting days determines schedule and budget.
Approvals
In addition, fixed dates for concept, rough cut and fine cut keep your project on schedule.
Talent & voice-over
We also organise casting, models and voice-over artists – including usage rights.
Versions
Finally, one shoot results in several lengths and formats for all channels.

FAQ about the video production process
01How long does the video production process take from inquiry to finished film?
A compact corporate film is often finished within three to six weeks. The duration mainly depends on approvals, locations and the scope of post-production. Short social media clips can be delivered much faster on request.
02What do you need from us for the first meeting?
First of all, your goal, target audience, channels and a rough budget are enough. In addition, your corporate design, examples you like and a target publication date are helpful.
03Who writes the script and storyboard?
Our creative team does. We develop the idea, script and storyboard and coordinate every step with you before shooting.
04How many rounds of revisions are included in the edit?
Usually two full feedback rounds: one after the rough cut and one after the fine cut. This way you keep control without delaying the schedule.
05Can we be present during the shoot?
Yes, of course. Many clients join the shooting day because they can give feedback directly. For studio shoots, you can also watch the picture live on the client monitors in the control room.
More questions about the video production process
06Do we need a permit for drone footage?
Often yes, for example in cities, above crowds or near airports. Therefore we check the regulations of the Federal Aviation Office in advance and take care of the necessary permits.
07Do you shoot in 4K even if we only need HD?
Yes, because 4K offers reserves. From 4K footage we can create crops, zooms and vertical versions for social media without losing image quality.
08In which formats will we receive the finished film?
You receive your film, for example, as a web version, as a vertical format for Reels and TikTok, as a master file for your archive or as a broadcast-ready file for TV and cinema.
09Who owns the usage rights to the finished video?
We define the usage rights transparently in our quote – by media, region and duration. We license music, voice-over and talent accordingly.
10How much does a complete video production cost?
It depends on shooting days, crew, locations and post-production. After a free initial consultation you therefore receive a transparent, non-binding quote – request it now.
